I began working with children when I was still a child. I've spent my life trying to improve the opportunities available to economically disadvantaged youth through education or environmental justice. After college I entered the work force for a few years, had to pay bills, dealt with a ton of bureaucracy, and faced a lot of distress from the day to day horrors the children I worked with experienced. I’ve started to envision other ways to make a change and am at a crossroad- continue working to improve the lives of others or be selfish... for once.

Well done. This was difficult editing, because even the extra words had feeling in them. But as you see, what you took away made what is left stronger.
