Law in Contemporary Society

Personal Introduction

I worked in finance after college. My job was lucrative; I loved my managers and my mentors. Material comfort and meaningful relationships were enough to suppress profound ambivalence about my actual work – until they weren’t. Our class has inspired self-reflection on this point: perhaps leaving was a subconscious flight from the ‘wrong side’. Perhaps I was split and coming here to pursue my passion to work in children’s rights law was an attempt to become whole. I’m enormously grateful for this revelation. It has refocused me on that passion, my reasons for attending law school, and ultimately my career ambitions.
