Law in Contemporary Society

Personal Introduction

-- By AlexWeiss - 30 Jan 2015

I want to live a life that's enjoyable. To that end, I want to have a career that I'm passionate about, in which I feel as though I'm doing substantive work that I feel is worth doing for the world.

I came to law school hoping to better define my passions; to discover the fields in which I can best make a difference (best both for myself and the field); and to learn the methods by which to make that difference. In short, I came because I was not exactly sure what I wanted -- nor how to get it.

But certainty is generally illusion, and repose is not the destiny of man.

Perhaps -- but then how can I ever change the world if I can't have certainty in what I want or how to get it?
