I recently came across an advertisement for an online search engine titled DuckDuckGo that says it does not track you.

In very plain english DuckDuckGo explains how your search history is used by third parties, and how google helps them. DuckDuckGo alleges to not save any of your data, and to at least not help other parties mine you for data. Their privacy policy is here, takes less than 30 seconds to read, and is worth it.

DuckDuckGo also links to another very interesting website, http://fixtracking.com/. This website has many plugins for most common internet browsers to assist you in preventing yourself from being data-mined, and looks like it is well worth a visit!
