A long way from Efficient

I wrote this paper at a time when I was mad about slavery in the context of the thirteenth amendment, but felt like I needed an excuse to write an essay about it. As a result, I tried unsuccessfully to tie in into something we talked about in class, see johnbrowning for a better incorporation of class and writing. Re-reading this essay made no more sense to me than it probably did to anyone else. By the time I revisited it, the subject matter was so far from something I was concerned about that had it been on paper I would have thrown it away violently. When life starts happening, vague concepts that only appear in books and courtrooms don't seem worth writing about. I don't care about efficient breach. I care about slavery and the exception in the thirteenth amendment and the racial composition of the duly convicted.
