Personal Introduction

-- By ThomasVance - 18 Jan 2022

I came to law school because Black people are dying. Prior to CLS, I learned and understood that change does not start or end with the law. I want to use the skills and knowledge that come with a law degree to help Black people do the things they want to do.

At the same time, I want to have enough money to spoil my girlfriend, future kids, and continue supporting people and orgs doing good work. I often struggle with that tension – making big money (helping large corporations amass/protect wealth) and supporting Pro-Black and anti-capitalist ideas, dreams, and people.
