For years I have wished to be closer to my family but studying on another continent has forced me to limit visits to school breaks and holidays. This past Spring Break I was planning to travel to Germany to spent time with the people I love and care about. But, due to the circumstances affecting us all, it may be bitterly ironic that I am now stuck in Germany for the foreseeable future. I am now completing my second semester of law school from the place that I always wished to go back to, my home in Karlsruhe, Germany, but I feel even more distanced from many of the people that make this place feel like home.
