I originally applied to law school for a very small niche interest--neuroscience and the law. After pursuing neurological research in college, I became interested in how breakthroughs in science can affect the legal profession and criminal responsibility. With my background in science and my legal education, I hoped to contribute to legal academia in this breakthrough area of neuroscience and law. Now that I am attending law school, I discovered a much broader legal interest. I still hope to pursue this niche interest but I now see this focus as a smaller part of the possible contributions of my career.
