I studied anthropology and philosophy in college, where I developed an interest in critical theory, technology, and the ways they might each inform the other. I had always had in interest in human rights, and I became concerned with what certain applications of technologies might be doing to us, particularly in regards to privacy and personal freedom. Briefly, I considered applying to graduate school in anthropology in order to approach theoretically questions about the intersections between technology and human rights. In the end, though, I realized that I wanted to focus less on theory and more on practice. I believe that the practice of law is one of the best means of influencing the world, and so I came to law school in order to learn how to do just that.
