I want to be a lawyer for two reasons, although I suppose the two are parallel. First, I want to better understand the world; I want to understand how (or why) things happen. I hope that understanding how the law works will help me understand the articles I read in the newspaper, the relationships I form, and my place in the world. Second, I want to help people. I want a life where I want to go to work every morning, and where I can perform work that satisfies me emotionally and ethically. I hope law school can provide me the training for this.
