| Lindows.com sponsors 'Clicky Awards' to reward open source apps |

With hundreds of great Linux software programs out there, Lindows.com is 'looking to give the authors of the best programs a bit of financial payback.'
Lindows.com is sponsoring the 'Clicky Awards' for the best consumer applications in six categories. Prizes of $5,000, $3,000, and $1,000 will be awarded to the developers of each application in first, second, and third place respectively. Awards will be announced August 31st.
According to a statement on Lindows.com's website, the program hopes to further open source application development, 'by rewarding developers of great software, we hope in part to recognize their innovation and spur further development efforts'.

Note: You must have a valid email address to submit a nomination, but you can nominate any Linux desktop application, not just those that currently run on LindowsOS.
