The adult Web site industry in the US has set up a trade organisation to fight its corner.
The Internet Freedom Association (IFA) claims it will work to promote the rights of the online adult entertainment industry.
But it's made it clear that it will also take a strong stand against child pornography and take steps to try and prevent young people from accessing pornography online.
Attorney Lawrence Walters, who will act as general counsel for the IFA said: "With the backing of a substantial number of industry representatives, we have created a sorely-needed trade group to represent the interests of a growing industry seeking to have its voice heard in both mainstream media and government."
"This group is about adult material by adults, for adults," said Walters.
The group was formed in reaction to a growing number of laws seeking to regulate adult Web sites without input from the industry. ®
